Haya Onallah

Scientific biography: My research examines how surveillance in its various forms has influenced the language of Palestinian poetry in Arabic and English. My work investigates how Palestinian poets in Israel, the occupied Palestinian territories (vis-à-vis the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip), and the United States have had to engage with different coded writing styles, and editorial strategies to navigate their surrounding political minefields and circumvent the pitfalls of articulating their cultural heritage and political positions.
