We are proud to announce that our MA student Lour Hayek has been awarded an honorable mention for the 2022 Rector & Dean of Graduate Studies Prize for exceptional theses. Lour's thesis, supervised by Dr. Ayelet Ben-Yishai, is titled: "Re-Examining Post-Colonial English in the Indian Novel." To use her supervisor's words, Lour's thesis "shows scholarly erudition, theoretical sophistication, and excellent close readings." The second reader of her thesis congratulated Lour on her "remarkable MA thesis," and her "clear understanding of the intricate problems of writing in English in the formerly colonized nations." They were particularly impressed with Lour's "truly admirable" elegant style.
